The Kiwanis Club of Saugerties is proud to support People’s Place, a cornerstone organization serving individuals and families throughout Ulster County.
For more than 50 years, People’s Place has been dedicated to feeding, clothing, and supporting neighbors in need. Their programs address food insecurity, emergency assistance, clothing distribution, and other essential services that help stabilize families during difficult times. This is hands-on community support, delivered every single day.
The need is real and growing. More than 18,000 individuals in Ulster County face food insecurity, including approximately 5,000 children. In 2024 alone, People’s Place provided more than 1.55 million meals. They have also seen a 12 percent increase in households relying on their food security programs. Those numbers are not just statistics. They represent families right here in our region.
The Kiwanis Club of Saugerties has supported People’s Place in multiple ways over the years, including donating Hudson Valley Garlic Festival® tickets for fundraising auctions and providing additional financial contributions to help sustain their programs. Proceeds from events such as Harvest of Hope directly strengthen their ability to serve our community.
We believe in supporting trusted local organizations that are already doing meaningful work. People’s Place has built a strong reputation for compassion, efficiency, and impact. When we contribute tickets or funding, we know it translates into meals on tables, clothing for families, and stability for neighbors facing difficult circumstances.
We encourage others in our community to learn more about People’s Place and consider supporting their efforts through donations, volunteering, or participation in their events. When service organizations and community members work together, we multiply our impact.
Strong communities are built through partnerships. We are honored to stand alongside People’s Place in serving Ulster County.
