For nearly 50 years, The Well has been Saugerties' community thrift shop — a volunteer-run project of the Saugerties Area Council of Churches where every dollar spent on secondhand goods flows back into local support programs. When a rent increase pushed the shop out of its longtime home on Partition Street, it faced an uncertain future.
The Kiwanis Club of Saugerties helped fund a fresh start at a new Main Street location. In a note to the club, Treasurer Patti Konapka wrote: “Thank you for your very generous donation to the Well. We are looking forward to reopening soon at our new location, which you have helped make possible.”
The Kiwanis Club of Saugerties is proud to help write the next chapter for a shop that's quietly supported this community for two generations.
