Programs & Local Support

Local Impact — What We Support

Kiwanis Club of Saugerties events and fundraising make a difference here at home. Thanks to community support and volunteer energy, our club helps: scholarships for local students; seasonal programs like Coats for Kids; support to community organizations such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Boys & Girls Clubs, and youth sports; donations to nonprofits like Children’s Annex and Diaz Ambulance; and contributions to community celebrations like the Saugerties Mum Festival and Christmas tree lighting.

Signature Events — How We Raise Funds

Our flagship fundraisers — especially the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival — are not only beloved local traditions but powerful engines for community giving. The funds raised at these events directly support scholarships, youth programs, nonprofit partners, and community needs throughout the year.

The Broader Kiwanis Impact

Across the world, Kiwanis clubs take on service projects tailored to their communities: playground building, backpack and school supply drives, food distribution, literacy programs, and more. Members stage more than 1.3 million service projects annually, reaching hundreds of millions of kids and families with life-changing support.

Service Leadership Programs

Kiwanis doesn’t just serve — it develops leaders. Through partnerships with youth-focused programs such as K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, and Circle K, young people gain leadership skills, community engagement experiences, and opportunities to serve alongside adult volunteers.
