Find Your Place in Service
Join a group of neighbors who believe that showing up for children and community still matters.
What Is Kiwanis Membership?
Becoming a member of the Kiwanis Club of Saugerties means joining a local network of people who care deeply about their town and its future. We are business owners, parents, retirees, professionals, and community members united by one simple idea: service works best when it’s shared.
Kiwanis is part of a global organization dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. But membership begins locally. It begins right here in Saugerties.

Why join?
A Sense of Purpose
Membership gives you a structured way to make a difference. Instead of wondering how to help, you become part of projects, events, and programs that directly support children and families in our area.
Fellowship and Connection
Kiwanis is not just service. It is camaraderie. Weekly meetings, shared projects, festival planning sessions, and volunteer days create real friendships. You build relationships while building something larger than yourself.
Visible Impact
From scholarships to community support initiatives to the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival, members see firsthand how their efforts translate into real benefit for local organizations and youth programs.
Participate in Signature Events
The Hudson Valley Garlic Festival
Members play a central role in organizing and operating one of the Hudson Valley’s most celebrated events. From logistics and planning to hands-on weekend support, the festival is both a fundraiser and a powerful example of teamwork in action.
Community Programs
Throughout the year, members support youth initiatives, nonprofit partnerships, and seasonal community efforts. Service happens in big public ways and in quieter acts of giving that often matter just as much.

What Membership Looks Like
Kiwanis meets regularly to plan projects, hear from community speakers, and coordinate service efforts. Members choose how involved they want to be. Some serve on committees. Some lead initiatives. Some simply show up consistently and lend their time and experience.
There is no single profile of a Kiwanian. The common thread is a willingness to participate and a belief that community responsibility belongs to all of us.
