Every December, members of Saugerties VFW Post 5034 travel to Saratoga National Cemetery to take part in Wreaths Across America, laying wreaths on veterans' graves in Section 21 — a tradition the post has now kept for ten consecutive years, working alongside the New York State Police, who help place the wreaths and hold a joint memorial ceremony.
Post member Bob Howe wrote to thank the club for its support: “Once again every veteran was honored with a wreath, this being the 10th consecutive year for that honor.”
The Kiwanis Club of Saugerties is proud to help make sure no veteran's grave goes unmarked at the holidays.
