High Woods Reformed Church traces its roots to 1850, when a small congregation first gathered in a one-room schoolhouse across from where the church now stands; the cornerstone for the current building was laid in 1868. The church closed its doors for a time in 1971 before a new pastor revived it, and it's been a fixture of the High Woods community ever since — including its Easter sunrise service at Opus 40, a tradition since 1979.

Now the historic church is restoring its belfry. In a handwritten note, they wrote: “The High Woods Reformed Church would like to thank you ever so much for your donation for our church belfry fund. Work will begin in the spring of 2026 and will be done early summer of 2026.”
